Morning after break fast-  start the journey to Thekkady (approx. 106KM) drive through panoramic western ghat hills covered with spice plantations. After rest, go for boating in periyar lake, you may get a chance to watch wild animals while boating.

*The Janardhanaswamy Temple*: also known as Varkala Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu built 20 centuries ago.

*Timings are 4am to 12pm and from 5pm to 8pm. Entry is free.*

*Sivagiri Mutt*: over a 200 acres of land on a plateau Sivagiri Muti is a spiritual center that helps heal thousands of believers every year. The Mutt houses a samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru's who is also the founder of the sanctum.

The Papanasam Beach, also known as Varkala Beach, is one of the best beaches in Kerala because of the view it offers from the cliff top. Like its name suggests, its water has medicinal properties and is believed to wash off one's impurities and sins.

The Samadhi situated within the premises of the beach is the resting place of the great philosopher, Sree Narayana Guru and attracts many devotees.

The Kappil Beach, a little away from Varkala, is a beach-backwater destination. The road splitting the two water bodies [west is the majestic Arabian sea and to the east is the calm and serene backwaters]; the backwater and the Arabian Sea, is a treat to the eye.
